Confidently named Bolivians defeated by awesome 20-yard scorpion kick
By Ryan Bailey | Dirty Tackle

The Bolivian Campeonato Clausura kicked off this weekend, with hilariously named “The Strongest” paying a visit to Nacional Potosi. The visitors failed to live up to their overly confident name, however, succumbing 1-0 to a pretty incredible 20-yard scorpion kick by 23-year-old Nacional striker Erlan Mealla. It’s almost certainly the most impressive example of scorpion kicking since insane Colombian goalkeeper René Higuita cleared Jamie Redknapp’s meek cross-come-shot at Wembley in 1995.
This kind of silky skill should be expected from Bolivia: teams which play at high altitude have been scientifically proven to be better than their sea-level-dwelling counterparts.
